Brandi Andrade

I bring women's stories to life with passion and compassion.

Authenticity, simplicity, and humor are my keys.  I'm most interested in stories about relationships that highlight or empower women's contributions to a rich and meaningful life.

I started putting my theatre degree to work as an undergrad, directing productions at my church and a community theatre in Arizona.  As a producer at Echo Theatre in Dallas, I programmed a popular reading series for several years that highlighted the contributions of overlooked female playwrights of the past and present--including the series' first (and, to date, only!) entire season of musicals. I directed, cast, or performed in many of these over the years; I wrote program essays and led post-performance discussions for nearly all of them. Over the last twenty years in Dallas, I have directed a number of productions for Echo Theatre (where I worked as a producer); served as acting coach, co-director, and director for productions at KD College and UT Arlington (where I taught); created, directed, and performed in numerous suffrage plays for various women's organizations and events; and, most recently, directed a production of Calendar Girls for Theatre Arlington that was awarded "Best Play of the 2015-2016 Season" by their theatre guild.

Director Brandi Andrade...gets some grand performances from her cast... The [staging] is clever...The production includes big laughs that catch us happily off-guard...[and] moments entirely meant for stage.
