Illuminating hidden stories, championing overlooked heroes, and making the past present.

My experience as a professional dramaturg has largely centered on my love of research and writing.  I've worked with a number of theatres across Texas, creating both reference binders and presentations for production teams as well as essays and lobby displays for audiences.  I've led a university practicum on the subject, helping students do all this and more for university productions, incorporating social media as well, to engage and entertain various audience demographics.  Additionally, I have published in-depth research articles to engage non-specialist theatre audiences.

SOCIAL ACTIVISM

I produce and create plays that highlight pivotal moments in women's history.

What started as thirst for knowledge about American Women's and Theatre History ended in a doctorate in Humanities with these as my specialties.  My Masters thesis, "Voicings" began as the final project in my first women's history course in grad school. The completed piece premiered at a United Nations Conference on Women, held on UT Dallas' campus in October of 1999. The success of that project has led to 18 years of research, writing, directing, and performing on the topics of American women's history and women’s rights, with a special focus that has developed on the right to vote.  This kind of work is not just a professional endeavor; it's what fuels my creative fire.

These theatrical storytelling experiences can be performed in a range of venues for educational and commemorative purposes.  With a blend of wit, humor, and passion, they honor the strength and spirit of American women.

If you're interested in bringing one of these performances to your school, university, board room, retreat, or women’s event, learn more here
